Exercise and Health

Physical exercise increases the circulation of the blood.During ex-ercise a man's heart beats violently.Whenever a muscle works it be-comes warm,that is,more blood goes there.The heart forces blood into the muscle as quickly as possible.Exercise compels the body to use more oxygen and a larger quantity of waste matter is expelled from the body.This makes the constitution more healthy.

Physical exercise develops the muscles.Many a sportsman has big arms and legs,which are better adapted to hard work.The more a mus-cle is used,the harder and larger it becomes.

Physical exercise increases the appetite and favours digestion.A man who takes exercise needs more food than the one who does not.The reason is that the more energy he spends the more blood he uses.New blood requires food to keep it pure.
