The History of Money
We use money every day to buy all kinds of things we need It's a long time since money appeared in the world.Do you know its history?
Long ago,money was not the same as the money we use today Seashells,rings,bamboo sticks,wood and cloth were all used for mo-ney.
The earliest coins in the world were used in China from about the year 650 B.C.They were round and had a square hole in the centre.Coins can be made of many different kinds of metal.The earliest coins in the West were made of metal mixed with silver and gold.
But lots of metal coins were too heavy to carry when people need-ed to buy something very expensive.So paper money came into being.They were first used in China.They looked like a message note from one person to another.
Today,most money is made of paper or common metal.They are colorful and well-designed.
What will the future money look like?Maybe it's a special card.Maybe we won't use money at all.Let's imagine it!
