The Old Pomelo Tree in My Hometown
Last Year,I went back to my hometown.Great changes had taken place.I was very happy.But to my surprise,the old pomelo tree in front of my grandfather's house had gone,There was only a tree stump there.I sat on the stump and my mind went back to the years when I lived here with my grandfather.
I still remember,in spring,every time when it began to rain,some people on the road,forgetting to bring their umbrellas,always ran to the tree and kept themselves under the big umbrella of the tree leaves.
In summer,people liked to play chess under its shade,when even-ing came after a day's hard work,people often got together around it and talked about something interesting.I often sat with my grandpa and listened to those stories.
In autumn,when the fruit on the pomelo tree were ripe,it was the happiest time for us children.Every day,we would go to the tree and look up eagerly,hoping the colour of the fruit would turn yellow soon.
Winter was very cold.We liked to ciimb up the tree and play games.We often forgot the coldness.
Now the tree had gone.wnat had happened to it?I stood up to ask an uncle passing by why people had cut down the tree.
He told me that there was going to be a factory there.I looked round and found many old houses were no longer there.I understood that pe-ople in my hometown were working hard to build it into a better and more beautiful place.
I love my old hometown,I love the old pomelo tree,but I believe I will love my new hometown more.
